Primary Education (Key Stages 1 & 2)

Key Stage 1 – Years 1–2 (Standard 1, Ages 5–7)

Key Stage 2 – Years 3–5 (Standards 2–4, Ages 7–10)

Transition to Secondary
(Key Stage 2 – Year 6)

Key Stage 2 – Year 6 (Standard 5, Age 11)
This final year of primary education bridges the gap to secondary school. Students study the core subjects — Mathematics, English, and Science along with ICT, History, Geography, Spanish, Music, Art, PE, and Personal, Social & Health Education (PSHE).

At the end of Year 6, students take the Standard Assessment Tasks (SATs) based on the British National Curriculum. These assessments measure progress and readiness, ensuring both academic achievement and personal maturity as students move into secondary education.

Lower Secondary (Key Stage 3)

Key Stage 3 – Years 7–9 (Forms 1–3)
In these years, students build on their Year 6 studies, with the addition of French. The curriculum encourages both independent and group work, strengthening critical thinking, application of knowledge, and analytical skills.

By the end of Year 9 (Form 3), students select subjects for the IGCSE programme (Forms 4–5). They are encouraged to include at least one Science, one Foreign Language, and a practical subject such as Art & Design, ICT, or PE. This stage lays the groundwork for academic specialization and future career pathways.

Upper Secondary & Pre-University
(Key Stages 4 & 5)

Key Stage 4 – Years 10–11 (Forms 4–5)
Students prepare for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). They may specialize in certain areas while also combining subjects across the Arts and Sciences, allowing flexibility in shaping their academic focus.

Key Stage 5 – Years 12–13 (AS & A Levels)
A-Levels represent the final stage of secondary education and pre-university preparation.

AS Level (first year) involves choosing three or four subjects.
A2 Level (second year) continues with two or three of these subjects to complete the full A-Level qualification.
Students may also pursue additional GCSEs or enhancement courses, such as Spanish for those considering European Law.

Graded from A–E (all passes), A-Levels are highly valued qualifications. While most universities require a minimum of two passes, competitive degrees such as Medicine and Veterinary Science demand three grade A passes and excellent GCSE results. Many careers also require strong A-Level achievements for entry.
