A group of parents, business leaders and educators recognized a need to offer an alternative private, co-ed, secondary school education in Trinidad and Tobago . We chose the UK National curriculum simply because of its familiarity and proven track record worldwide. While this offers a natural progression to UK Universities, it is also a great foundation for tertiary education elsewhere in the world including North America .

In September 2006 the British Academy opened its doors and currently offers pre-Form 1, Form 1, Form 2, Form 3, Lower 6 and Upper 6. We will offer all levels by 2008.

Our content of faculty and curriculum includes local and foreign staff and subjects.

We have partnered with The Leys School of Cambridge, one of the UK’s premier independent secondary schools, and Woodcroft Primary School in London. This allows us to keep up to date with current British teaching trends and keeps us informed of any National Curriculum changes as they happen. This relationship has been invaluable for us and in turn we have supported them with Caribbean cultural education, arts and sports projects.
