University of Sheffield Caribbean Doctorate In Education Programme | |
Sheffield EdD The EdD is a 4 year programme, divided into two parts. Part 1, which takes 2 years, is the taught component during which students attend 2 study schools, one face to face and one virtual, in each year. Study schools are held in July (face to face) and January (virtual), and study 6 modules, each of which is assessed by a 6,000 word assignments. These assignments can be tailored to match your own professional concerns so by going on the programme you might be able to kill a number of birds with the same stone. In Part 2, students work on a research project of their choice which culminates in a 50,000 word thesis. Throughout Part 2, which again takes 2 years, you will be supervised by a member of staff from the School of Education and you will also attend 2 study schools in each year where the emphasis will be on student presentations of work in progress. The venue for the study schools will be the British Academy , 23 Alexandra Street , St Clair, Port of Spain (see http://britishacademy.edu.tt/ ). Fees for 2010/11 will be approximately £2,920 plus a local fee.
