A group of parents, business leaders and educators recognized a need to offer initially, an alternative private, co-ed, secondary school education with plans to expand into primary when needed, in Trinidad and Tobago. We chose the UK National curriculum simply because of its familiarity and proven track record worldwide. While this offers a natural progression to UK Universities, it is also a great foundation for tertiary education elsewhere in the world including North America.
In September 2006 the British Academy opened its doors and currently offers classes from Primary through to A levels.
Our content of faculty and curriculum includes local and foreign staff and subjects.
The Academy is a registered Cambridge International Centre that is aligned with several UK Universities. It is also a registered school with the local Ministry of Education.
